November 8th, 2016. The Reserve Bank of India declares the ₹500 and ₹1000 notes illegal.

Millions of people across the country queue up at banks to get their old currency swapped for crisp new notes.

What. Just. Happened.

Cash transactions are at an all-time low, the economy is hit. Cab-hailing app, Ola's rides see a ginormous slump. People needed a solution, and we had one right in front of our noses. 96 hours later, the campaign for Ola Money - the digital payments solution from Ola - hit the media. 

While the nation reeled in shock, we wasted no time in getting to work. Partnering closely with the marketing team, the TV film went live to hit screens just as Coldplay's big concert made airwaves across the country.

Results: There was a 34% spike in bookings and a whopping 56% increase in cashless rides.​
